Vegan Cake Recipes That Taste Good Too

Vegan cake recipes are perfect for that homemade vegan Christmas party dessert or for a Halloween holiday party or even to take to a bake sale or pot luck. Some vegan cake recipes can be made into a cupcake too. They can be served as a special birthday party treat.

Best Vegan Tea Bread


3/4 c each self rising white flour and self rising whole wheat flour

1/2 t baking powder

1/2 c each raisins, golden raisins & mixed candied citrus peel mixed together

1-1/4 c cold peach tea

2 T Soy milk

4 T lite brown sugar

Soak the raisins mix in the cold tea overnight. Add the Soy milk, flours, baking powder and sugar to the raison mix and stir together well. Pour into a non-stick 1 pound bread pan that has been well greased. Bake in 350 oven for 1 hour and cake feel firm. Let rest for 10 minutes and take out of pan to cool.

Spice Applesauce Cake

This is one of the vegan cake recipes that is spicy and keeps well so it would go well to a potluck or a Halloween bake sale. This is up to the standards of Martha Stewart or Paula Dean for sure. It is made from scratch not from a cake mix at all.

2 c self-rising white flour

1/2 t each salt and baking powder

1/2 c Crisco

1/2 c lite brown sugar

1/2 c each chopped raisins, dates and pecans

4 oz water

1/2 t each ground cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg

1-1/2 c apple cider-unsweetened

2 T Soy milk

Bring to boil raisins, dates and spices in 4 oz water, drain and cool. Sift baking powder, salt and flour in a pan and add brown sugar, Crisco and apple cider and mix well. Add rest of items and mix then pour into a non-stick 9″ square cake pan. Bake in 350 oven for about 1 hour. Toothpick should come out clean. Cool and serve.

Vegan Apricot-Almond Cake

Another of the vegan cake recipes for a Christmas holiday party dessert.

1/2 t baking powder

4 T lite brown sugar

1-1/2 c self-rising whole wheat flour

1 c each chopped dried apricots and ground almonds

1-1/4 c Soy milk

1-1/4 c roasted chopped almonds

1 t almond flavoring

3/4 c Crisco melted

Cover apricots with soy milk and set aside overnight. Mix baking powder, flour and ground almonds in a bowl. Melt Crisco and sugar together and add to flour and mix well. Add the apricot mixture, roasted almonds and almond flavoring. Combine well. Put into a non-stick greased 6″ round cake pan and bake in a 325 oven for 50 minutes. Test and toothpick should come out clean. Cool in pan.
