Oprah’s War on Science, Celebrities (or, in reality, feed cancer by being vegan)

So, in researching the pernicious quackery that led to the death of MCA, where he was led to follow his saliva cancer surgery with this crap:

In October 2009, Yauch sent an email update to Beastie Boys’ official fan list, writing that he was “taking Tibetan medicine and at the recommendation of the Tibetan doctors I’ve been eating a vegan/organic diet,” after undergoing surgery in late July to remove the cancerous tumor. “I’m feeling healthy, strong and hopeful that I’ve beaten this thing, but of course time will tell,” wrote Yauch.

Does this sound familiar?  It should because another dead celebrity followed this advice, you may have heard of Steve Jobs:

“One of the bases touched by the book is Jobs decision to delay surgery for almost a whole year after learning in October 2003 that he was suffering from a neuroendocrine tumor or, a relatively treatable and rare form of .

Jobs decided to employ alternative methods to treat his pancreatic cancer, hoping to avoid the operation through a special diet – a course of action that hasn’t been disclosed until now.

For nine months Jobs pursued this approach…”

I don’t know…it seems like both these guys followed the Ornish BS about low-fat diets that I found celebrated on Oprah’s website:

“Diet also makes a huge difference for men. Dr. , who had already shown the ability of a low-fat vegetarian diet, along with other lifestyle measures, to reverse heart disease, tested a similar diet for men with prostate cancer. To track their progress, he checked a blood test called prostate-specific antigen (a rapidly rising PSA is a sign of advancing cancer). Dr. Ornish showed that, on average, men who avoided animal products actually had a drop in their PSA levels, meaning their cancer was not advancing and might actually be retreating. Meanwhile, men in a control group that made no diet changes continued to worsen.”

Yup, had the same thing that MCA did, turning into a skeletal cancer victim.  Look at the photo below and see the similarity between him and Yauch as they fought cancer.

Steve Jobs Treated His Cancer At Veggie Restaurant?

One blogger that follows this stuff more closely notes, as I wrote/copied in the last post points out that the diets these guys took up were probably cancerific.

“A vegan diet isn’t necessarily high-carb.  There has to be at least five or so vegans who live off of avocados and olive oil.  All jokes aside, the vast majority of vegans eat a high-carb, low-fat, grain based diet.  Even if you aren’t vegan, eating a high-carb diet is going to increase your risk of cancer.”

You know, really, easily treatable cancers turning deadly when a high carb diet is undertaken at the behest of semi-religous vegan nuts?  This has got to be stopped.

What’s this got to do with your 5-stage human machine?  Just remember, there’s a whole health food industry that conflates low-fat with a heart healthy diet, even though there’s been no proof ever of that link.  Eat protein with a clean conscience.  And, better yet, eat something fatty and protein filled because your body will thank you.
